STRyNG
Privacy Policy  ·  Effective date: May 7, 2026  ·  stryng.app/privacy

Your privacy, plainly explained.

STRyNG is built to help you remember things in the right place and at the right time. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who it may be shared with, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

We collect information needed to run STRyNG and support the features you choose to use.

  • Account and profile information — if you create an account or sign in, this may include your email address, first name, last name, username, display name, and profile data returned by Google Sign-In if you choose that sign-in method.
  • App account identifiers — we maintain account and device-linked identifiers so reminders, syncing, and shared features work consistently across sessions.
  • Reminder and sharing content — the reminders, lists, notes, locations, squads, family/group settings, and other content you create or share in the app.
  • Location and geofence event data — location information, place details, and reminder-trigger events used to determine when place-based reminders should appear.
  • Push notification identifiers — device messaging tokens and related notification identifiers so we can deliver app notifications.
  • Calendar information — only if you choose calendar-related features, such as creating an event from a reminder.
  • Voice input data — only if you choose speech-to-text features, such as speaking a reminder instead of typing it.
  • Wi-Fi-related context — if you use certain exit or home-related reminder features, the app may use Wi-Fi network identifiers such as SSID to help determine whether a reminder condition has been met.
  • Local app storage — settings, cached content, and other app state stored on your device to improve reliability and performance.
  • Subscription and entitlement data — if you purchase or restore a STRyNG+ subscription, we and our subscription service provider may process entitlement and transaction-status information needed to manage access.

2. How we use your data

We use your information to operate, maintain, and improve STRyNG.

  • Creating and syncing reminders, lists, and related app content
  • Triggering location-based reminders when relevant conditions are met
  • Supporting shared reminders, family/group features, and other collaboration flows you initiate
  • Sending notifications and reminder alerts
  • Supporting optional calendar creation, voice input, place search, and map previews
  • Managing authentication, subscriptions, account security, and abuse prevention
  • Diagnosing reliability issues and improving app performance

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your personal data to build advertising profiles for data brokers.

3. Location data and background access

Location is an important part of how STRyNG works. The app uses location data to decide when to show place-based reminders and, in some cases, to support reminders that need to work while the app is not open.

What this means in practice: STRyNG may use current location, saved location targets, place details, and geofence or trigger events to determine when a reminder condition has been met.

Background location: If you enable reminder features that need to work when you are not actively using the app, STRyNG may request background or always-on location permission. Without that permission, some location-based reminders may not function as intended.

Place search and map context: If you search for places or use map previews, related place query and map-request data may be processed by the providers listed in Section 5.

Your control: You can limit or revoke location access through your device settings, but doing so may disable or reduce the accuracy of location-based reminders.

4. Sharing features

STRyNG includes features that let you share reminders or related content with other people you choose, such as friends, family members, or squads/groups.

When you share content, the people you select may be able to see the reminder itself and related details such as titles, notes, timing, locations, or group membership information, depending on the feature you use.

Please share thoughtfully. Information you choose to share in STRyNG is visible to the recipients included in that sharing flow.

5. Third-party services

STRyNG relies on third-party providers for core app infrastructure and optional features. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.

If AI-assisted text parsing or drafting features are enabled in a particular version of STRyNG, the text you submit to that feature may be sent to the provider supporting it in order to return a result. We will update this policy if those integrations become a standard part of the product experience.

6. Sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal data.

We share information only in limited circumstances such as these:

  • With people you choose — when you use sharing, family, or group features.
  • With service providers — when a provider needs the information to perform the function described in Section 5.
  • For legal, safety, or security reasons — when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, STRyNG, or the public.
  • As part of a business transfer — if STRyNG is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

7. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate STRyNG, maintain your account, provide requested features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Account deletion requests. This version of STRyNG does not clearly provide a fully self-serve in-app account deletion flow. If you want your account or associated personal data deleted, email info@stryng.app and we will review and process your request in accordance with applicable law.

Some data may remain in backups, logs, or third-party systems for a limited period where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, or technical operations.

8. Children

STRyNG is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will investigate.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal data, and to object to or restrict some processing.

  • Access — ask what personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your account or personal data where applicable
  • Portability — ask for a copy of certain data in a portable format where applicable
  • Permission withdrawal — revoke location, microphone, calendar, or notification permissions through your device settings

To make a privacy request, email info@stryng.app. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as STRyNG changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we may also provide additional notice inside the app, by email, or by other appropriate means.
